i think to get the most of your stay in another country, you should stick with the local stuff..
New York City has this cool website called Lifebooker.com, where in case your feet need a pedicure, or your skin is problematic you can book an appointment online to get them fixed at a beauty spa.. The best is that they also discount to up to 50% so it turns out to be cheap to get services.. This way you also avoid "the tourist price" .. you book it online, no one sees you or hears your accent, and you end up paying less. I only wish they did this in other countries.
